Today we visit the Vatican.
Italy
Museo, mosaics, mizzle and muscle
It was our second day in Roma, time for an excess in culture. It was raining.
Like in Spain, the Italians are particularly morose in rain.
A bit about blogging
Blogging takes time, but with a bit of organisation it can be painless and not too time consuming.
Ancient Roma
We are now approaching Rome. Over the next few days, our travels will become very cultural, very touristic. We will visit lots of museums, lots of ruins. There will be lots of wandering around the big city…Could we cope with that?
Sad bear and lonely wolf
We are heading to Roma, civilisation, well the start of it (sorry Greece). For now more mountains, and some sad wildlife.
Turquois lakes and mountains
We are gradually heading for Roma, but being on the east coast we have to cross back to the west. We decide to take an indirect route through a couple of national parks.
East coast, the poor brother
Now tweeting sign up at our site.
We awoke the next morning in Isola del Gran Sasso. The day is so clear, Corno Grande was standing there, in front of us, so majestic, so intimidating, so beautiful.
A shocking discovery
Part of the travelling experience is to come across the unexpected, although sometimes this can be very emotional. It was another town we were heading through but it really made an impact on us.
After Spello, Spoleto
Just another hilltop town, tedious, relentless, well someone has to do it.
A classic
‘A classic walk, rich in history, along Umbria’s most famous hilltop towns’. That is how this walk was described in the book “The Classic Walks in Western Europe”. So we are going to tick this one off.
