We arrived late at the aire last night, this was a wild west inspired site, and should have had electricity and Wi-Fi. But at 6-30pm everything was closed. They were all either in bed, or watching TV via their satellites.
Countries
Abandonment
We are getting into the more remote parts of Portugal and the Algarve. This is a marked improvement on the touristic crap on the coast, but as you get more remote you also step back in time, sometimes too far.
Infamous place
Walk no 7 on the Ciceron’s guide – Praia da Luz to Salema
Today we are walking along the coast.
Dora needs some loving
Generally Dora has been pretty good. She has given us some headaches and stress, but nothing really major. Was this about to change?
It feels more like a hill to us
Walk no 9 on the Ciceron’s guide – Slopes of Foia
We are about to attempt our sixth walk in the Algarve. Today we are in the village of Monchique and about to climb the highest peak in the Algarve, Foia (902m).
Call it perseverance
Right, here we are again, trying to do another three walk suggested by Julie.
To give you an example
We left Spain and headed off to south Portugal to walk around the Algarve. We drove directly to the South West to do three walks Julie described in her book.

Our costs in Spain
Once again, we have come up well under budget in the third country we have visited: Spain .
Back end of Spain: highly recommended!
After our fantastic climb of El Pelado, we are heading towards Portugal, which is only a few hours away.
