After a long week in the Pyrenees, enjoying being in the open and away from civilization, we changed scenery completely and spent a couple of days in the city of Zaragoza, the biggest in the county of Aragon, North East of Spain, and only two hours south from the Pyrenees.
Food and wine
“Los San Fermines”, the absurdity of a tradition
After our lovely walk along the cliffs of San Sebastian, we headed off to our next big hike in the Pyrenees. On our way, we stopped in Pamplona, a city in the Spanish county of Navarra, where the festivities of “El encierro de los San Fermines” (The Running of the Bulls) take place.
Au revoir France
Here it comes again, the time when one adventure ends and another one begins. Our main trip to France has finished although we will come back briefly in the summer to attempt to climb Mont Blanc.
Farewell to French Wine
We had had such a good previous day, should we visit more vineyards, or leave it at that?. Another country was looming on the horizon, Spain.
Just a little more French whine
The Loire wine experience was neutral, would the Bordeaux region change our view?
One day the Île d’Oléron
After our intense three days in the Loire Valley, we return to the coast to continue our original itinerary towards the Île d’Oléron.
Wines of the Loire
Having spent quite a bit of time on the coast recently, we felt we needed a change. So we headed off inland towards the Loire Valley, one of the numerous wine regions in France.
Nice Surprise in Concernau
We left Crozon peninsula on Monday morning and drove straight to Concernau, without realising that a nice surprise was waiting for us there.
Du Fromage
New tastes and scents are an important part of the travelling experience.
We are in France!
What a fantastic five weeks in the UK but it is time to move on; we are so looking forward to the next country, France.
