The weather is still dry, let’s make the most of it. We pack up and go to do this via ferrata.
Via Ferrata
Another perilous anniversary
Today is our 11th anniversary, the second one we celebrate on the road, we are still happy and still enjoying it.
It’s got to be wrong
After our walking break along the Verdon gorge, we are back on the cables. We are back on vie ferrate.
Best yet
And for many different reasons, but it did cost us.
Second bite of the cherry
In March it was closed due to rock fall, today we head back to the Verdon Gorge
The Oldest
What’s different about today’s via ferrata? It is the oldest in France, it was built in 1988. There is another reason why it is different but you will have to read the post to find out.
Why Ferrata
Are we yet getting bored of via ferrata, not a bit of it.
Length is the new challenge
We have done 14 Vie Ferrate so far, from grades 1 to 4 and different levels of exposure. However, they’ve all been relatively short (around 2hrs). Today, we are pushing for a long one.
3-4-2-1
Four via ferrata in one day, surely too much.
First French Ferrata
One day rest is enough after our biggest challenge, the climb of Monte Rosa. We are now heading towards France to try out the French Via Ferrata.
